I'm a wife and mom of two teen boys ... and a lover of books. I've had my nose in a book all my life reading everything I could get my hands on. I joined GoodReads in 2019 to start tracking my book journey and I'm reading, ranking, and reviewing over 100+ books a year.

 

I've always enjoyed talking about amazing books, the feelings that are evoked, the authors writing technique, and what's on my TBR (to be read) list. My local book club has made me realize how much I enjoy sharing book details with others and I wanted to expand my reach. I love helping people figure out what book they should read next. In another life, I must have been a librarian because if you tell me 1-2 of your favorite books, I can point you towards more that you'll likely love! And it makes me so happy when people come back and say that my recommendations were on target :)

Personally, psychological thrillers are my top choice, but even I can't read too many in a row without feeling a bit "heavy". So I mix it up with other genres. In the last two years, I've added historical fiction in and have been pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy them. History was my least favorite subject in school, and I had previously avoided them but I know better now! I love Romance novels and Rom coms are awesome for making me look like an idiot as I laugh ... by myself ... when walking my dog with my audiobook on. I also read many of the books that my teenage son reads (YA and Fantasy). And then I sprinkle non-fiction in with a self-help book, something of interest (food / brain) or business related. It's a pretty good mix!
